Lou Antonelli

Hugo Award Nominee

Lou Antonelli (January 6, 1957 – October 6, 2021) was known in speculative fiction realms for his alternate and secret histories.

Born in Medford, Massachusetts, he moved to Texas in his twenties, and was most closely associated with that state. Outside of sf, he was a journalist, and the managing editor of The Clarksville Times of Texas.

His first professional sale was "A Rocket for the Republic," which was published in Asimov's Science Fiction in September 2005, and appears in his collection Fantastic Texas. Eleven of his stories received honorable mentions in The Year's Best Science Fiction (2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011). "On a Spiritual Plain" was a finalist for the Hugo Award for Best Short Story in 2015, the same year his Letters from Gardner was on the ballot for Best Related Work.
